The First Day of Kindergarten

Eating breakfast, this is an early hour for Avery.

Showing off her new school outfit. I couldn't get her to hold still. She has to dance her way through everything.

All ready for the big day!

Uh-oh. Somebody is really nervous and scared. I think we might see some tears today.

Puzzle time. Avery did great on her first day of school!

She's a big girl now!!!

We totally lucked out and got Avery into the Pocatello Community Charter School. I was thrilled and she was terrified. We had a huge crying scene at kindergarten registration, much to my horror. She told the office manager that she hated penguins and didn't want to go on a stupid field trip to see their stupid penguin. I stressed myself crazy all summer long about Avery starting school. About two weeks before she started, it was like she matured two years. She was all about school and couldn't wait to go. *huge sigh of relief*

This pics are from the open house the night before school started.

I'd Forgotten that I Love 2 Cook!

God only knows how you get to a point in your life when you stop living. I don't know how my marriage did that to me. I was in pure misery. No one is to blame exclusively...it's just what we became over the years.
My goal since moving into my own place is to find myself again and what I like to do...ya know, what makes me happy!
Lately, it's been cooking. I made the BEST vegetable minestrone soup. Avery is a self proclaimed vegetarian, so I have to cater to her vegetarian needs. Of course, she thought my soup was "nasty."

Along with my dad's gazillion apples, he has about an equal amount of zucchini. I love zucchini to so I made some spaghetti with zucchini, walnuts and golden raisins. The pile of fresh parmesan didn't hurt either. There's no such thing as too much cheese!

Dear God....

Please tell me what's wrong with my sweet little angel. She's sick so many days and nights. Paiger Pete is a miserable little girl. It's not like she's dying, but she's not really living either. Too many bellyaches and restless nights. It has to be something, please please help us find it.

Fall Canning

Yes, I actually do things like "can" foods with my parents. How very Mormon of me. Sorry, that's kind of an inside joke. Dad has a gazillion apples, so we made enough applesauce to get through til next year.

My Little Photographer

Avery is obsessed with taking pictures. I nearly have a heart attack everytime she has my expensive camera in her hands. I think it's in her blood to be a famous photographer. She certainly has the creativity and imagination to do great things. She took so many pictures at Yellowstone, she is making her own scrapbook.

My $2000 Dog

You wanna see me freak the "F" out? Well, have someone run over my sweet pup. You'll hear everything from "OMG" to "WTF?" between the hystericals sobbing of, "my baby, my baby." I have no dignity when something happens to my dogs. Frankie was such a big boy to go outside all my himself for the very first time. Less than a minute later, I hear the sound every pet owner dreads! The screams of an injured animal. *Sniffle* It took me about a millisecond to lose my composure and run out yelling at the idiot who ran him over. He's a very nice man but he deserves the idiot on this one. "I saw him by the back tire, I tried to shoo him away," he says. My mature response was, "oh did ya, is he a fucking fly?" So, anywho...I rush to the vets office, sobbing uncontrollably. They take him from my arms and drug him up, take some xrays...yep, broken femur and dislocated hip. This is not an easy fix I'm told. The fracture includes the growth plate...this is the worst age a puppy can fracture his leg...you'll have to go to Sun Valley first thing in the morning and have orthopaedic surgery done to repair this leg. Not to worry about the cost, I'll do anything for my babies. Ironically, I only paid $175 for Frankie.
My sweet, Daisy dog was there with me for moral support. She freaking hates Frankie, but the second he's injured she rushes in like a mother hen. Whining and crying and licking his face.

Post op Frankers. He was so brave and strong. I know, I'm an idiot dog lover. Thank God for little doggy narcotics. I wouldn't have made it through without them.
